Plumbing under a planned theocracy's street grid

Zion was founded in July 1901 by John Alexander Dowie as a planned religious community, laid out on a distinctive grid: numbered streets running east-west, biblical-named avenues running north-south, and diagonal boulevards converging on a central circle. By 1906 the community had grown to roughly 7,500 residents before Dowie's ouster in a financial scandal that same year.

Early-1900s plumbing in a grid built before modern code

Homes closest to Zion's original circle-and-boulevard plan date to the community's earliest years and were plumbed well before any modern supply or drain code existed, meaning galvanized or other early pipe material is a real possibility. A plumber should be told whether a property sits inside that original 1901 grid or in later infill further out, since the two have very different starting assumptions.
